Failed Adventure or Won Opportunity

Mrs Globe

Hi, my friends! I hope my journey and lessons outlined below resonate with some of you!  So I didn’t win last night at the Mrs. Globe Pageant, I didn’t even place – only 1 of 3 people out of the 12 competing in my division that didn’t win anything on that stage last night…

The first thing I did was throw a pity party… I cried, I called my life coach and wondered – ‘why’! I said things like – ‘I don’t understand how I’m so misunderstood’, ‘How can I show up so authentically and not get celebrated for it’, ‘Is who I am not good enough’, ‘Is my best not good enough?’

After two hours of sleep and as I sit in the airport waiting to go home – here’s what is coming up…

1. There are thousands of women and girls in this world that would give anything to JUST be on that stage! Trust me I’m the first to recognize this! There are so many people and women who deserve 1/100th of the recognition for their personal efforts and achievements but can’t afford the time or investment or haven’t stepped into their power to realize that there is a stage to showcase it and celebrate it!  I’m humbled every time I represent my greatest achievements in front of a receiving audience, no matter the outcome!

2. This wasn’t MY time on THIS stage!  I cannot say enough good things about my sister queen, beautiful friend and new Mrs. USofA Globe 2018 – Taryn Statsney (Oregon)!  She deserved this win and she worked so hard for it!  It was HER TIME and she is so deserving!  There have been a lot of times in my life when it was MY time over someone else’s and I’m elated to step back so Taryn can step forward!  Love you my friend!  I cannot wait to see what you do with this title, and please know that I am willing to support you, however, I can!

3. I’m a true believer that EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON and sometimes I forget my own teachings!  I haven’t yet discovered what life-changing reason I was brought to this stage, but I guarantee you, I’m going to benefit tremendously from it!  Once the reason presents itself, that’ll be MY WIN!  I welcome that clarity in the weeks to follow!

4. This is, I AM Positive Presence!  Positive Presence is about finding your light from within and living in that light and power even when darkness presents itself!  Losing this pageant wasn’t remotely close to ‘darkness’, but darkness seeps into the aftermath in the form of self-doubt, failure, jealousy, shame, loss, frustration, sadness… Positive Presence is being able to feel the feelings, accept the outcome, recognize the positives within the experience and go back to your life’s work and keep fighting!  I have gone through all those steps in JUST 8 HOURS!  The younger me would’ve taken weeks to get to this point!  I am #PositivePresence, I am strong, I am resilient, I am a Queen no matter what crown I wear, I am perfect as I am, I am an unbelievable mentor and coach, and I deserve to go back home with a smile on face and continue the fight!

5. I still won!  I am still walking away with so much:

A regional title and crown – which trust me – I’m going to do big things with over the next 12 months

Over $800 worth of sponsored gifts

The Mentor of the Year Award – I deserve that recognition – I work my butt off all year long being a mentor and coach to my girls and other moms

An incredible friendship with my roommate at the pageant and 4th Runner Up last night – Susan Manuello!  We came into this pageant as acquaintances not really knowing one another that well, and we are leaving as sisters!  Love you my friend, I can’t wait to see the journeys our friendship takes us on!

Sister queens and girlfriends from around the world!  This is my ethnic, beautiful, plump cherry on top!

Meeting Dr. Tracy – Dr Tracy, I manifested you into my life to give me affirmation that I am on the right path!  Thanks for helping me realize that I too can turn Positive Presence, like Mrs. Globe, into a globally acclaimed business!  I look forward to sharing the stage with you in years to follow as fellow successful women in business changing the world for women!

I’m unbelievably proud of what I did in ONLY 13 DAYS while being a full-time business owner, having a full-time job, starting another new full-time business, being a mom, a wife, a coach, being a leader in a women’s group and all the other hundred responsibilities I have on my plate!  How I made all this happen – I have no idea – but I’m so proud of me!

I have to give a HUGE shout out to all the people that helped me in 13 days!

* Maggie Burns (Marie-Margot Couture– your friendship like your gowns – is one-of-a-kind, priceless, beautiful and so empowering!  You are such a great friend and I am so humbled to have you in my life and adding so much beauty to it!  Thank you for my custom evening gown!

* Kendrick Howard and Jenni Howard (Blue Talon Photography) – you guys have become family in less than two months and I cannot tell you enough how incredibly grateful I am to have you by my side on my entrepreneurial journey!  Thank you so much for my incredible new headshot and professional photos that I will be using in EVERYTHING, and thank you for your unwavering faith in me and my abilities!

* Michele Ariana (Michele Ariana – Mpower Your Life) – Michele, you are seriously the most amazing friend, mentor, and coach I could have ever asked for!  Thank you for always being my light even in the darkest of times, for being my cheerleader when I couldn’t find the cheerleader in myself and for helping me finally being able to connect to source and self!  I love you more than words and am so grateful for your continued guidance and love!  You’re incredible!

* My League sisters and brothers – over the last 13 days, I have received so many words of encouragement, so much energy and so much love from all of you and I am just so grateful for our family!  Thank you for believing in me!

* Liz MJ Thompson and Keith – thank you for training me, teaching me healthy eating habits and helping me get physically ready for a bathing suit competition, still can’t believe I did that!  I am so grateful for your guidance and coaching and look forward to many many many more regular driveway workout beatdowns!

* And most importantly – Adam G King! I have no idea how I found the most amazing husband in the world! I don’t know how you put up with my crazy adventures, last minute life excursions and the roller coaster of ups and downs in my life, but damn you do it well!  You are my King, my rock, my voice of reason – even when I don’t want to hear it – my biggest fan, my hero, my better 3/4 – because, without you, I’m less than 1/2 – and literally my EVERYTHING! I could win a million pageants and still not be as close to when I became YOUR QUEEN!! Thank you, my love!
